Thanked: 81ghost strop
The weirdest thing happened.
I bought a vintage Clydesdale Shell 129 strop a while ago, maybe last summer, I don't really remember. It needs minor restoration, but is in great shape. It shouldn't take more than an hour to fix up (plus waiting time between mink oil sessions).
But here's the thing: I can't find any evidence of having bought it.
I'm certain I bought it for quite cheap on eBay, but it's not in my purchase history. I can't find it in my email, no matter what the search parameters are. It's not in my PayPal activity, or my accounting software. I also checked my forum messages, as well as my Kijiji account just in case, but came up with nothing. Yet there it is, hanging in my closet, waiting for the day I have time to pull it out and work on it.
Has anything like this ever happened to you guys?

You Be History, Joel.
Ebay changes their mind about things weekly!
History is not profitable, for the most part.

Thanked: 4826:-)
Well typically I can’t find evidence that I paid the bill that my wife asked me too, but that’s usually where it stops.

With basically every piece of razor gear I buy, my wife sees the package, and I'm like, "Where did that come from? I must have blacked out." Did you pick it up locally and forget?
There are many roads to sharp.

Thanked: 556The strop is evidence that you bought it. What’s missing is the evidence showing what you paid for it.
Well played.David

Thanked: 81I know, right?
It wasn't a huge expense, so it's not like I'm missing a huge transaction in my accounting - it's just weird. I tend to spend way too much time thinking about these kinds of things and trying to figure them out, which I know is a waste of time, especially because I probably only spent about $30 or $40 on the strop.
Anyways, I'm glad I bought it. Once it's cleaned up, it will be a beauty.

A while back, EBay touted your purchase history from day one was there. It was.
It quietly went to your last few purchases without a whimper. Imagine THAT!
If you or the seller left feedback, you might find it there.
