What difference does the thickness make.
Life expectancy of the strop?

Thanked: 1082End result doesn't make a difference mate.
The usual Kanayama strops are much thicker, more than likely from working horses. Horween source their horse from France or Quebec whom consume horse meat with a result that the Shell obtained from the rump is much thinner than Kanayama is.
I was speculating that the Kanayama shown might not be Shell or sourced elsewhere.
It's times like these we need Neil Miller to set us straight!
