    Default Razor Strop Fungus

Has anyone any experience of using the Razor Strop Fungus, AKA the Birch Polypore (Fomitopsis betulina) for stropping razors?

I have heard that there is a layer which can be peeled and glued to a paddle, there are also guys on youtube just stropping on the fungus, which does not look convincing to me. I'm curious to try it, and I'm wondering how good a strop it makes.

I would say yes if we were still in the Neanderthal or Cro-Magnon period. I think we have evolved to a higher existence with better tools to strop a razor???
