Default How wide for leather plus.25 dimond spray

Hey all I've noticed with my three inch DIY strap with diamond spray that the work is focused on the toe and heel of the razor. What it the best width for a dimond strop? I was surprised At how much time it took to to get those spots to shed the marker easily while using the hone. I think I only used the dimond strop 2 times 30 ish laps with clean leather stroping in between.

I'm also thinking I have been under stroping before shaving; 50 laps or so. Maybe 100 would allow be to avoid the dimond?

Is there a case for a under 3 inch clean strop? I have a bunch of veg taned shoulder from cow. It's softer and smoother than latego leather I bought before, draw is more than the latego as well.

    Thoughts?

The diamond spray i use is on a linen strop not leather. It gives more flex and holds the spray longer. Im thinking on leather is cod wipe off easier and not get imbedded i to the leather as well. JMO. Ive had them 3 inches without issue.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

i use an x-pattern on my strops, whether 2 or 3 inches,
whether leather or linen and even on Cro ox.

    1. I cover the whole blade
    2. It doesn't matter if the blade is straight or smile
    3. I think it's a good habit to have
