    Just run you hand over it and if it feels pretty smooth it will feel that way to your razor. It would need to have major defects to be unsuitable to stropping and it doesn't look that way.

    I agree. Knife guy is probably just getting carried away with gear perfectionism. His strop is absurdly glossy looking.

    I wouldn't sand that either from the way it looks. I like more draw than some people so if I were to sand that strop it would be to make it rougher.
