    Default A proper strop

After five months of straugt razor shaving, I finally bought a proper strop—a 2”” Ashcroft leather strop with a cotton back strop. It seems to me that a couple of my razors have a better edge, but he most amazing result is the diesappearing dark spots on my vintage Wostenholm Pipe Razor. It must be the cotton strop that is cleaning it up.

Interesting. Are you sure it's cotton? Flax linen is more abrasive than cotton so it is more aggressive. Could be flax if it wasn't specified. Hemp fiber also is even more aggressive than flax but it feels softer, some even softer than the cotton.

Congratulations on your new strop. Maybe post some pictures.

Very nice. You should get untold years of good service from that one.
