    Default Poly or cotton

Should you put your chromium oxide on poly webbing or cotton strop?

I guess the real question is what CrOx are you using, there is very little of the good stuff out there

Definitely want to make sure you have good crox. I like using cotton as my substrate for paste

I have both and they both do the job just fine. Personally I prefer cotton canvas for pasting but that is more a preference of the way it feels while stropping than with the way it works. I think that's a little subjective anyway.

I don't even bother with it. If it's dulling...hone it. Your going to have to anyhow. What's 20 minutes or less to do a touch up.

If you get your honing right there is no need for it.

I don't really use it to refresh or rarely, at least not these days. Mainly I use it while honing to polish between stones.
To refresh I usually use flax linen or, moreso recently, hemp fiber webbing.
