3 3/8" wide padded strop
Latest thing I have made. It's been to hot to sit at the bench after the work day. But I did make myself a 3 3/8" wide , 36" long raised padded barber strop. Backing is 14oz hermann-oak-leather saddle skirting. The internal padding is a 3" strap I cut of 7oz horween dublin. The top is 6oz italian veg tan leather. I wanted to use the back for gouge but I did not recess the stitching so it bumps against the tang. I also named it after my boy DUKE(my dog that just passed away) and put a bulldog on it. It's fancy enough for a duke to use it.

I don't know, but to me it looks like the stitching may get in the way. It is a nice looking strop however.

The top is raised above the stitching. The pad strap of leather in the center is narrower then the front and back

Thank you. And yeah going from the cold to 70 degrees is hot. And if I sweat on veg tan or get skin oils on it, it just doesn't look right.

Nice. Sorry about your dog. That sure leaves a hole.
Have to say though, perspective is everything:
