    Cool stropping

Unrelated: As I said, I'm practicing my stropping. If I maintain proper form, is it possible to over-strop a blade like you can overhone it, or does continual obsessive stropping not cause damage unless you roll the edge? (I'm not talking hours on end... Just 1-4 times over the course of a day) [If it is important at all... I shave 3x a week]

    Thanks,
    Jeremy
To answer your questions: I use a 3 inch wide red latigo/web fabric from SRD. IMHO they are top to the line. I have affix it to the side of my sink cabinet as you can see in the picture. When stropping I hold the handle and pull very tight so that there is no slag in the strop, thusly avoiding rolling the edge. I do 30 to 40 laps and based on experience that is plenty good to obtain positive results. No you can't over strop a razor. Experiment with incremental laps until you find the right amount for your confort.

Also, what is that jacket you're wearing? I think it looks like one of the oooooold barber smocks from back in the day... but that's just me

Well, that is my very own "stropping jacket" that they issue all of the "guests" here at the Whispering Pines Recuperation Center. Most of them come with really long sleeves that tie around in back. But I took my dremel and shortened the sleeves a bit....

Actually, it is the hotel guest kimono from the Hyatt Regency in Fukuoka Japan. I wore it for the sake of modesty.

For that, I, and I'm sure many others, thank you
