    Default Newbie strop info request

    Good Day,

I have been looking for a first strop and have read information about the Filly and it looks like a great value. I came across a horsehide & canvas strop at a very reasonable price from the Best Grooming & Shaving Tools web site. Has anyone had any experience with their horsehide and canvas razor strop for less than $20? Thanks for your replies. (Sorry to anyone who has read a similar post from me today...it seems my first post disappeared).

Their marketing blurb makes it sound that even they don't consider it of very high quality and mostly suitable for pasting it.
At the end of the day good leather costs money, so at some point there is just no way for the economics to work. Where this point is I don't know since I have no idea what leather appropriate for strops costs in bulk.
