I also over applied the .5 spray on my first piece of wool felt. My second piece did much better with just a few sprays. I wonder if Lynn expected this and is a factor in why there are two felts included with the modular paddle strop (in addition to having two treated with two different pastes). My question is, What do you mean by "press it down"? I will be soaking mine and drying it as I very heavily applied the spray, and experienced a toad skin like bumping across the whole surface.

ThreeSGuy,
I covered my felt strop with a peice of cotton cloth, then had it with a steam iron. After the ironing, I placed it face down on a smooth surface, evenly weighted the back of the strop and left it for two weeks to dry. It was fine after that
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

Q re Applying Diamond Spray to Wool Felt Strop
[QUOTE=mrsell63;524280][QUOTE] FROM BASSET:
I did not expect that the wool would have a "grain to it." Move your hand upward, and there seems relatively smooth. Move down, and there is noticeably more friction.___________________________

Would someone like to comment on the wool felt grain issue? How is the strop manufactured and does the grain affect the razor edge in any way? Inquiring minds want to know.........Thanks
