Thanked: 326What are specs?
Has he made Roo strop before?
I'm no expert on strops but that looks mighty nice! I like the swivel snaps he used and hand stitching is nicely done. Either my eyes are playing tricks but I like that he rounded off the edges.
Are you planning on having him do a second material or just keep it as is for time being?

no i dont think he's ever made a strop before (he Laughed at me when i said that it was for a cutthroat razor)
also your eyes are not playing tricks on you they are rounded off at the edges (i did ask him to bevel the edges)
i want to try this out first and see how it goes

Looks awesome! Good stuff! Will you/ he be offering these for sale?
The only thing I can think of is to add a linen backing to it. Its just personal preference, but I like to strop on linen before I go to the leather. Other than that, it looks pretty darn spanking..!

Oh no - all of those with SAD are being drawn to this thread like moths to a porchlight.
Whether you know it or not - you are now in business for yourself.
BTW that is a very nice strop as well. I do believe that SAD is starting to set in - Quick - must... close... this.... post

+1. It looks great.
What kind of leather is it?
And has anybody ever tried Kangaroo? I think I remember someone saying it's a bit finer than horse leather but I may be mistaken - this is in general, not as in strop leather.I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Thanked: 326Yogi that's good thinking I did the same with mine. You're less likely to nick the edges and it looks nice to boot!

Thanked: 335yogi,
That's one handsome strop. You and your hide binder may just become Oz's answer to strops.
