Travel strop?
I picked this up at a flea market, was told that essentially with a bit of elbow grease I could get it as good enough to strop with it. What do you all think though?

Should work out fine. I'm going out of town for a month so I'll be brining my every day strop with me.

Thanked: 522Saddle soap it
Saddle soap the strop and wipe it clean with a very damp cotton cloth until no more dirt show on the cloth. While the leather is still wet and laying flat on a bench or table, rub it briskly with the side of a thick water glass to smooth out any dings and dents.
When the leather is dry, apply some Neet'sFoot oil and wipe off the excess. The leather should be good to go from there. Most of us might recommend NO paste on your strop. xtwo here. Keep it clean.
Good luck with any dings & dents............JERRY

Thanked: 522Travel Stropping
If you really need a travel stropping solution, a simple piece of leather glued to a piece of balsawood will do the trick or a piece of newsprint stretched over a hardcover book will also straighten up that pesky edge.
