Whoa. I realized I didn't formulate my previous post correctly. I did not use bleach on the leather. I took the whole strop apart and soaked the linen separate. I can't edit the post anymore unfortunately.
For getting the strop flat I oiled/conditioned mine and got it to a pliable level. I then put it between two large cutting boards and put iron weights on top of the board for a few days.

ah the one that i didnt singe you mean?
there seems to be a fine line between getting the leather shapeable and shrinking beyond control
if you got something beyond hope id say try it but if theres anny other option try that first

Sorry for not getting back to you guys about the strop.
I ended up trading for a DD Shell strop and made a few of my own strops, so I've been busy with those. Also, I don't have anywhere to put this Amodeo strop in the sun for a few days to kill the smell since I'm in a dorm, so I've put off working on it for now.
