Thanked: 151Hardware Sources, Leather Sources Etc..
I have recieved about 3-4 emails or PMs about strop hardware. Each person told me they contacted some of the vendors here and apparently got no response that was clear. So I am going to list the hardware that is on one of my strops from a vendor here and some other sources. I know this is a big secret, but since I happen to know where to get this stuff I will share the much classified information.
Strop Hanging Hardware: this is exactly what is on my bridle strop except its not the matt color. The second Link is what I have been using. Their shipping fees are crazy, but they have a monopoly as far as I can tell. This is the retail store for uemi.com as well.
2" Wide Push Latch Fashion Bolt Snap Hooks For Flat Straps - usalanyards.com
Super Wide Strap Steel Metal Bolt Snap Hooks: For Flat Rope - usalanyards.com
Strop Leather:
Horse Hide: Source: $75 minimum purchase and lots of waste/strop.

Bridle or Any Cow Hide: I am told by Tandy leather this is the best source for premium leather and I am placing my first order in March as soon as I get home. You have to call, but they will send you free samples.
Wickett & Craig of America - Worlds Finest Veg-Tan Leathers
Cotton/Fabric Links: I have not tried the cotton or the hemp. The hemp is unavailable for a while, but I will be trying the cotton in March and the Nylon fabric works very well and I have been using it for strops.
Special Polypropylene Webbing 3 inch - from www.ahh.biz
Organic Hemp Webbing | Tapes Rawganique.com
Lea Sachs Category View - MIL-W-530
Chicago Screws/D-rings/ Square Loops: I will include two links, but the guy off ebay is the cheapest and he combines shipping. The other source is very good too.
eBay Store - fisher: rada, udderly, Harness
Rivets, Spikes, Snaps and Chicago Screws
I hope this helps everyone who wants to make their own strops. I am sure the trade secrets are out, but this might help those find what they are looking for. DO bare in mind that it is way cheaper to just buy a strop or razor, but it is very rewarding to use your own stuff. Just don't cut yourself. I am going to try to do a "how to" thread with photos if people respond to this and want to see the methods I have worked out.
Contact me if I can help anyone out with more info.

This is a great and very useful post!
Especially for me since I'm trying to make a few strops for myself. I really should strop (yes I'm leaving that typo) my strop AD, cause I just got a DD shell strop in and I really think that with the others I have, that'll be enough.
