Irish Spring on your strop?
Ok...this is meant in half-jest and half-hmmm
Soooo...I'm reading the back of an Irish Spring box after tossing a new bar into the shower and noticed a couple of interesting ingredients...The first being sodium tallowate which some proclaim as useful to revive and/or condition strops. The last ingredient on their list is...wait for it....'chromium oxide greens' (presumably for color).
I'm tempted to bring out my first strop which is all nicked up and worthless and give it a whirl....it might provide some conditioning to the latigo as well as leave an ever-so-slight coating of crox that would help polish the edge (though MUCH less than a pasted strop)
opinions?

Why not ? The worst you can do is screw up an old strop . Maybe someone can try peanut butter , next .
Greetings , from Dundalk , Maryland . The place where normal people , fear to go .
