A strop for multiblade razors !
So there i was doing a bit of late night browsing, its half past midnight here, and i come across this for sale on a "Style and Grooming" website.
So its got to be a con right, surly it can't be true, well read the reviews and make your own mind up. Like my title says " A strop for multiblade razors".
Oh and i'm eternally sorry if this has been posted before i just thought it was a good idea.

Thanked: 199I'd be skeptical. The one blade "sharpener" seen on TV (i forget the name) was proven to be a lie. Not only did it NOT sharpen the blade, but in fact, dulled it even worse.
Ditch the multi-blade razors, and pick up a DE or straight. You'll thank yourself for it later

thanks i do have a straight razor but it still needs honing by someone who knows what their doing i.e. not me !
i just thought it looked like a good idea, if it worked, for anyone who might still be using a multi, like both my boys do, if it did work then they could club together and start saving money being students as they both are.
I just have to sell the few items i have on ebay and i'll have enough for a cheep SRP classified special
or a re-hone on my own razor i haven't decided yet

Thanked: 199Before I decided to start straight shaving, I was going to buy one of those cartridge blade sharpeners too. I did a google search for the name and reviews, and came across a news article that one of the reputable Universities did here about it. As far as saving money goes for your boys, you should let them try a DE (double edge) razor. The packs of blades are CHEAP, and you can also strop them to make them last longer as well.
If I lived in the UK, I'd be glad to hone your straight for ya, but unfortunately I don't, and I know how much the post and duty can add up shipping things across the pond

well it's the thought that counts !
TBH i'm going to try and get them both into straight razors and my eldest, Joel who's just turned 20, is willing to give it a try and with his soft growth i think he'll learn good technique before his beard grows thicker with age.
So far i'm looking at it this way - i can buy a freshly honed SRP classsified or at least a members own website razor for about 2-3 times what i can get one honed for. It may cost a bit more but then i have one to shave with and one to try and hone myself.
It looks like my ebay sales will probably raise around £40 - £50 so i can get something for that
ian done rambling for now

So I'm standing in line at the register and see the "strop" for my multi-blade cartridge. I sink 19.99 into the well and take it home. The verdict, this thing sucks! If anything, it dull the razor quicker. While the principle is good, in practice, I don't think the "strops" hit the blades at the correct angle, thus causing accelerated wear versus sharpening. Save your money and invest it in another str8 or some additional equipment.
Looking forward...
