    Default Paddle and belt strops

Today I made a 2 1/2" x 8" paddle strop just for the heck of it. After using it I found that it was easier to concentrate on my motion technique than when using my normal strop.

Is there pro's and con's to using paddle strops versus belt strops?

I started with a 24" hanging strop. A pro barber type thing. I got used to stropping on that. I find the length advantageous. I discovered paddle strops after coming to the forum and I use one with paste. From what I've read of other people's experience a paddle is an effective stropping medium if you get used to it and learn to be proficient with it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've not heard of any major differences. As long as your stropping technique is good, you'll get a good shave ready edge..!

There are some members here who only use paddle strops, and they really like the results they get.

Good luck and keep us posted!
