    Default Travel setup question

I'm heading on nearly a 2 week trip in a few months and not keen on trying to pack up a SRD English Bridal that I really like.

I'm looking for something I can use while traveling that is easy to pack in a suitcase for a cruise or flight. I'm looking for something up to $100 and had been looking at the SRD modular paddle but at 18" wonder how easy it will pack as well as what would you wrap it in to keep the pasted pad from covering clothing packed with it? (or keep from being damaged)

Other suggestions and thoughts are welcomed.

Thanks in advance from a newly hooked straight guy.

I have that same strop, and I enjoy it so much that I just bring it with me instead of my travel setup. The way I do it is to stand it on its side along the edge of the suitcase and pack my bag tightly pressing it flat against the side. I just did it in fact on my business trip.

I could get by on something else... But I'm not real keen on that

The alternative to a paddle strop is a table strop that lies flat and still on acrylic feet. I have a couple of nice bloodwood leather-topped strops and they give superior results. 20 inches long, 3 inches wide. At first I thought it might be a pain standing next to the table or counter where they're set, but the width and stability were impressive.

Well, I have my http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...nal-natur.html, which is extremly portable, but also very lightweight.

http://straightrazorpalace.com/strop...ar-paddle.html has a side-by-side shot of the P IV (long) and the paddle. The paddle is really quite big. If you don't intend to put it in your cabin luggage, I cannot see why you would not want to use it, as it will come in handy later for pastes and sprays. I like it a lot.

Just wrap your hanging strop in some stiff corrugated cardboard. this will keep it straight when packed with all your clothes and protect the leather.

if your worried about damaging your main strop, just find a cheaper one that you don`t need to worry about as much.

    Hi,

I use an old long sock to put my paddle in when travelling.

If you can get the plastic bags that Petri dishes come in they are also ideal

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ
