    Default DIY Episode 2

    Hello guys and girls,

from the first project i've had some leftover leather... a piece just shy of
    67 cm

but the first strop i made wich you can find here
was 8 cm wide and i found out that 7 cm may be better four several reasons
(i dont wanna make a long thread) but ask away and i will explain my point of view

and so i trimmed 1 cm of the whole lenght and when i saw the little narrow piece i came up with something wich works really really well.

Have a look and tell me what you think

The leather is cowhide with a very natural finish and the finnished piece is very reliable as it does not cup or sag or break or anything... i have really pulled on it and it really is strong.

and with it being 7cm wide... just a couple of mm's wider than the blade of my dovo special i find it makes full contact on the hole lenght i dont have any problems with it not making contact with the blade what-so-ever as i did in the beggining with my first strop.

Thank you for reading and looking at the pictures.(and also excuse the quallity of the pictures i only have a pocket camera to work with)

i will attach a pic with the old strop for the people who dont feel like going through the other thread to look at the pics

    Looks good.
You may find that the hanging method on the new version causes problems by distorting the strop when it's under tension.
If that's the case, you'll have to source some more D rings.
