    Default 4 Sided paddle strop?

I've been thinking about getting into more of the honing side of things, and wanted to get a 4 sided paddle strop to finish things off.
    I have 2 questions:

First, is this a piece of junk? I would spend the money on a Thiers-Issard, but they are out of stock at classicshaving.

Second, I would like to paste it with Diamond 1.0, 0.5, 0.25 and Cro-Ox. Is there someone who I could send it to to be pasted, or should I purchase the syringes of diamond paste and a baggy of cro-ox?

    Thanks all

My first strop was the TI that you are talking about. For me, the strop was simply too dang small/short. If I had it to do all over again, I wish someone would have recommended a paddle strop of a minimum of 16" of stropping area. Second, I only have experience with .5 diamond paste and it's probably all I will get. I go from 12K stone to a .5 pasted paddle strop (ruprazor is where I got my leather to make the paddle) to plain old leather paddle strop. Until I can find one of those big strop rigs like Lynn uses I will continue to use paddle strops. My stones are flat, so my thoughts are that my leather should be too. I recently went to Atwoods and picked up some leather made for a saddle to try as a strop, but just haven't gotten to mounting it to wood to date. Same stuff can be found at most places you can find farm supplies.

My recommendation is to stay away from that strop on ebay by the way. Have a look at the classifieds. If you find something of interest, contact the seller and they should be able to tell you if what they have to offer is what you are looking for. Most folks on here are honest to the core, I can't say that about Ebay at all...
