    I always do an X stroke when stropping, but some with wider strops may prefer not to do one. There is enough "give" in the leather that it's probably OK.

    When I do the first stroke - away and flip on the toe, should the spine travel (90 degrees against the strop) to the heel before
    doing the reverse stroke? A sawing motion?
    Or it it correct to do the reverse stroke flipping on the toe and do the reverse stroke beginning on the toe?
