    Default The Livi Loom

The first custom razor I ever bought was found on ebay. It was a set consisting of a Livi 8/8 damascus with stag horn scales, a stag handled Livi brush and a stag handled Livi loom strop. It was a buy it now for a third less than the going price on Classic for the same set and in mint condition. I couldn't resist.

I used the loom a time or two but not much. I am more inclined to the length of the hanging strop and used my flat bed felt for CrO on the rare occasions that I use it. This morning I was looking over the herd for today's razor for my SOTD.

The TIPTLE called to me and I picked it up and stropped it. I pulled a greasy hair out of my hairbrush and tried an HHT. No cigar. I thought of my Livi loom. I went and got it out of the fitted case where it has been languishing for months, unseen and untouched.

I did 20 round trips on the CrO side which is , as you can see, coated thoroughly like a pool table. I followed that with another 20 laps on the luxuriously soft leather side. It is like glove leather to my touch. Grabbed up that hair that wouldn't cut and there is no part of that edge that won't pass HHT.

BTW, anticipating the question, the inner tubes seen in the background are flats that I have to patch. I ride bicycles a lot and they are from road and off road mishaps. On the to do list.

Great feeling when a plan comes together. Could I get you to take a picture of your loom from the side...I've been wanting to make one but haven't seen a picture of one to get the whole concept in my pea brain.

Twas a good shave this morning. Better than any DE I've ever shaved with but that is a given.
