    Hi,


    Is this a good strop for a beginner?









    It reads
    Monark razor strop co. moravia iowa 768

    It completely depend on the condition of the strop. You would have to show the entire strop. The particular brand is borderline irrelevant--it's a strip of leather with a maker's stamp on it. BTW, Moravia, Iowa is the birthplace of most of the barber hones made in the US in the last half of the 20th century.

    Does it have any nicks or gouges in it? If no, then that's good. Is the leather flat and smooth? If yes, then that's good.

    I really enjoy buying the old strops off of ebay. However, it is a huge gamble that even with decent pictures can turn out wrong.
