    Default Linen for Homemade Strop

I would like to make a strop but I have no idea where to buy a piece of linen. What kind of fabric can I get to use for this?

I've been using some denim I cut from an old pair of jeans.
It seems to do the job for me.

    Disclaimer
Of course - I haven't compared this to other linen strops. Just letting you know I'm happy with what I'm using.

    All the best,
    Michael

    Default Tony Miller Site

Tony Miller is selling some various cotten and webbed fabric cut and punched to be included in someone's homemade combo strop. His prices look pretty good. His site can be found at www.thewellshavedgentleman.com

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you'll see his fabrics for sale.

    Good luck!

Tony is charging $11.95 for coarse & fine weave cotten, and nylon in 2.5" and 3" widths, and he has the hard wool for and additional $12.

Is Tony selling right now? I thought he was taking a break.

Dilandry got his hands on harness material. I don't know if he has anymore, but I got some from him it works great and is inexpensive. He had a post about it just a little while ago. I can't post a link from my phone.
I have also used the denim and that works great too. I use the denim more than my others.

Tony is taking a break from strops, but is selling some hardware components and 2nd material (cotton, webbing and hard wool felt). See his website ...
