I use a paddle strop for travel. I don't want to damage my hanging strop.

I use a paddle strop that I made when I travel. One side is balsa with chromium oxide so I pack it in an old army sock.

How to Pack a Strop for Travel
Gentlemen:
I have a Tony Miller 2" short travel strop with a leather string for hanging on door knobs. I lay it flat on top of my clothing inside the suite case, whether flying or driving, and it stays in good shape.
Regards,
Obie

For short duration you can roll it loosely but flat is best. Even better if you travel a fair amount get a paddle strop.
