I can't offer much, but I think the maas made the bevel shiny

Thanked: 480What it means, is that you neglected to shave a strip with each, to see how it improved along the way!

Thanked: 3795I think this is a perfect example of how deceptive bevel photos can be. If the photos are not taken in a consistent manner, then no conclusions can be drawn from the progression. The angle was changed for the last two photos, causing a brighter reflection, but if you look closely at the scratch patterns and ignore the brightness of the images, you will see that there was no apparent improvement in the bevel using this progression.

Yup. Looks like the light source angle changed

Sorry if I missed it elsewhere, but what kind of microscope are you using?

Can we learn anything from the first 4 photos? Or do these photos lack any informative info? Just curious because I think they are pretty...
Thanks!

The pics show there are no large chips in the edge. The glints in the edge could be dust, skin cells, a slight wire or microchips but it looks worthy of a shavetest.

First, what on earth is a "wicked paddle" ?
Second, how are you doing all this without creating a better effect on the edge?
Try using one method of improvement for 100 passes and let's see what that does. Strop, and lets see what that does.
Shave and tell us what it feels like.
