    They are simply beautiful strops, and I'd recommend one to anybody who appreciates strops. It's too expensive and nice to risk cutting, so for that reason alone I wouldn't recommend it as a first strop, or as an only strop.

    I would agree with others here. It's not that it's any more effective than any other strop, it isn't (well, for me it isn't, anyway). It's just that the smell and glass-smooth feel is simply very nice, and unique. And, I like traditional barber-style strops with no handles or rings, so it has that going for it too.

    The smell, especially when new, is like walking into a high-end shoe store. Not a saddle shop, or a shop that sells leather jackets and handbags. A high-end shoe store, yep.
