Thanked: 12I just drilled a pilot hole between two towel racks in the wood underneath the window. Then I screwed an open eye hook into the hole. I then painted the hook white with nail polish so it matched the wood finish and wasn't so noticeable.
When I strop, it's out level from the wall about navel level or a little higher. Works great for me.
When not in use, I keep the strop hanging from a 3M plastic hook on the back of the bathroom closet door.

You must live in the wrong desert. I bet there's one here:

Yup dry river bed boat raceThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 14You can even use just the door knob with some rope.
I've taken rope, tied it aroudn the door knob, then clipped the strop onto the rope. Worked perfectly and allowed me to strop at the waist, which was a lot better than when I used a towel rack.

Thanked: 14Also, you could always just install some small hooks under your sink somewhere so that you can strop from a waist high level.
