    well i have both an illinois 127 hanging strop i also have a hand american strop paddle style set up it has a base that has a piece of glass on top for a hone flim sheet then a steel top covers that and you can put a magnetic rock hard felt pad on top of the steel cover i have the felt loaded with .25 micron spray also have a magnetic balsa (wood) pad covered in .5 micron chromium oxide semi pasta and a magnetic horse butt leather strop all of these accessories fit on the base which is 11'' x 3'' i prefer the base strop system.

    Default Lynns modular paddle

    Man i just picked up Lynn's modular paddle with magnetic leather and wool pads, what a sweet tool . I think for a while this is gonna be a favorite thou I do use a hanging one at my shop. Tradition....

    I started out using just the SRD paddle daily, but now like the hanging to cover more ground quickly.

    I still use that paddle a lot though and would not be without it.
