Thanked: 398different strops....
Hey,
have you guys ever noticed that some razors tend to react differently to certain strops and draw better than others?

Thanked: 398I have one razor that reacts very well to a slick strop with little draw whereas another one of my razor likes very heavy draw..

Of course not all strops exhibit draw no matter the razor used however I wonder if the amount of draw you get from razor to razor has more to do with its degree of sharpness rather than some other quality of the razor itself.
In the end I find no matter the strop or draw they all do the same job.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 398That's possible. I still get a very nice edge, but I find that when I run the HHT test after I strop on the one with heavy draw, I usually get a cleaner and easier HHT.

Strops all act differently and then there's different leathers too and then theres different steel for the razors...
It's one of the things that makes this so much fun.
