    Default Strop got a face lift

    Being a noob I had put a few nicks on my new strop

    I did not want to disgard the strop altogether so after reading a few threads on strop maintenance I decided to give it a face lift.

    A few new pieces of powered coated hardware to color coordinate everything along with a little rehab work on the leather and walla...

    Looks great... I have noticed something about strops... It's kind of like the nice pair of shoes that goes with a suit... Or a Nice razor that goes with a strop...

    How did you accomplish that? I have an antique strop that is really stiff and cupped over. I have tried to scrub it and apply eucerin, but it just doesn't seem to get soft enough to produce any draw. I'm thinking about just breaking down and getting a new one, but it would be nice to be able to bring this one back.
