Thanked: 11recommendations for a cheap canvas/linen strop
I am looking to make a quick and easy linen hanging strop to compliment my filly strop. I have read the wiki about the denim strop and was wondering what other materials i should consider. What attributes should i be looking for?
I am thinking that the easiest way to make one would be to find a strap of a suitable material between 2-3" wide and put a grommet or D-ring on it. Just off the top of my head, i think i could probably score a cloth belt or something from a thrift store. Maybe an old seat belt or something.... Just tossing out some ideas....

Thanked: 0I've been thinking about making one out of some leftover canvas that I have but havent gotten around to it. so I cant say from experience that it would work well but it should be about the same as denim...just a suggestion for you

I've heard that seatbelts work really well for DIY linen strops. The webbed nylon material backing on my strop actually closely resembles a seatbelt.
Let us know how it turns out!

Seatbelt is probably your best (and easyest) bet
