Default Chromium Oxide and Mineral Oil

    Hello All,

I was wondering if anything else can be used to make a Chromium Oxide paste besides mineral oil? I will be trying one on balsa wood and another on leather. Can one use baby oil?

    Thanks.

Baby oil is scented mineral oil.
You can use neats foot oil, lexol, and probably other oils that are suitable for strop treatment.

I use baby oil. In Australia food grade mineral oil (which is sold as a laxative) is also called liquid parrafin, so it might be worth looking in a chemist for that.
