Default High quality razor strop OR leather.

I am looking for a really good quality strop. What can you guys recommend? Currently I have Jemico 18” and Balsa bench, not to say they are bad, just looking to get something larger in size? I am also considering making my own strop, but I need some really good leather. What are some choices?

I have a Walking horse strop and really like it. I have also heard really good things about the SRD strops there is also a long version in the SRD lineup.

    Default High Quality Razor Strop

    Hello, Saming:

Strops are, like anything else in the world of wet shaving with the straight razor, more a matter of personal choice than anything else. I can recommend any of the following strops I use:

    SRD 3" Premium I
    SRD 3" English Bridal
    Tony Miller 2"
    Illinois 2.5" #127
    Illinois 2.5" #827

I have had others through the years, but these are the ones I prefer. The two Illinois strops are less expensive, but they are good. Barbers have used them for years.

Everything Tony Miller makes is high quality. I use my 2" Tony Miller for travel.

I understand Neil Miller, in England, makes excellent strops. I don't have any of his strops and, therefore, I cannot comment on them. Someday I will get one.

So there you have it. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these strops.

    Regards,

    Obie

I use an SRD Bridle in a long length. There are about 10 other strops in the closet, so I guess you could say that's what I would recommend.

At least until I find out about the new leather they have posted on Facebook.
