Default Check out my strop find

hey guys, check out the strop that i found in an antique store for 15 (did i get a good buy?)
it is an edmond roffler, balsa on one side and leather on the other
the slices in the sides go all the way through (too make it lighter?)

does anyone else have a strop like this?
also, i would appreciate any information that anyone can give me

this is the first strop i have gotten my hands on and plan to buy a cheap strop to learn with first

    anyways, here are some pictures

I don't know much about the name brand of the strop, but the slices in the sides are to give the strop a measure of flexibility, much like a hanging strop would have.

I'm pretty new, too, but I would drop $15 on that if I found it in a minute

I just got 2 of them at auction I don't believe the one side is balsa on either of mine. On one, 1 side has red I believe iron oxide & the other side is black. The other strop has one red side & the other is almost white. Both sides feel & look like leather. Mine both say made in France on them & come with a storage box with "Edmond Roffler" on them. Both are 1 3/8" wide. The actual leather "strop" part is 7 3/4" long.
I will try them on 3 razors, Dubl Duck satinwedge, Genco 6/8' round point & a Joseph Allen 5/8' Medium size Hollow ground.
I also got a Keen Kutter Barber Hone & a 6"X2"X5/8" Carborundum fine sharpening stone in the deal. Will let U know how it goes.
