Strops are for fine tuning your edge to get you an edge that is kickin'.
But lots of passes on a strop increase the odds it'll take a nickin'.
As straight shavers all know, strop-nicking is just a fact of life.
Most won't hurt your blade nor should they cause you mental strife.

Fact: A strop that looks absolutely perfect is a new one.

All my Strops have nicks in em. Nothing serious, just little nicks on the edges where I flip the blade. To be honest I just quit worrying about it.

I took everyones advice, did a little sanding on what I thought were bumps, and then did a lot of smoothing, rubbing of hands, etc..

It's back to it's old great self, and I stopped worrying about it as much. I have slowed down my stroke, set it on my headboard instead of hanging stropping, and I've improved 100%.

Thanks so much for the input folks. Much appreciation...
