    Default Premium III Buffalo = to much draw?

    Just wondering; for those who have tried this strop how would you compare it to the latigo or horse hide? I have the latigo now and it's a bit light on draw with some razors. I liked the horse hide I had but sold it, it had quite a bit more draw and was good for the heavier blades.

    Where does the buffalo fit in when compared to these to leathers?

    I got to try one of those last year. It had more draw than the latigo and horse hide strops I have used, but I really liked it. Whether or not it is "too much" draw is just a matter of personal preference.

    Here is what the SRD website says on the strop;

    "This “Premium III” strop is thinner then our Latigo but if you like draw this is the strop for you. It is a more Delicate leather then any of our strops and produces just a huge amount of draw. In addition, this strop is simply a beautiful strop."

    I had read that; I was just looking for some kind of comparison. No matter, I went ahead and ordered one.

    I really liked it. If I needed a strop, which I don't, I would buy that one. If you find that it has too much draw for you, then you're welcome to give it to me. I'll even cover postage.

    I've got the P III. I love it.

    When I first used it, it felt a little like "plastic"....that's the best way I can describe it. But....after about 100 razors now, it's really beginning to show its colours. The draw is thick and heavy. it's less buttery than the Premium 1, and thicker than the Premium IV.

    IMO, and I like draw......this is my favourite strop.

    I'll keep that in mind as long as you drive over to pick it up LOL.

    This strop is a keeper. IMO it has no more draw, maybe less, than an Ambrose Spanish Horse hide I had. I haven't shaved off it yet but I did strop a razor and it felt great with the blade.
