In also have a SRD strop,and the extra half inch is VERY nice,but I also have an Illinois strop at 2 and a half inches,and got them (I have 2) for $24 each,they all work so get what you really want as no nicks in a year is pretty good,so whatever you get will last you a while,IMHO

Well got my Tony Miller 2.5 and tried it out a couple of times. I didn't think that it would make such a difference but daaaamn was I wrong. I don't know if it's the fact I never had a cotton side then leather or I don't have to do an x stroke now but man did it make a difference. Almost like I took to the razor with the hones.

Extra 1/2" depends on the razor and how you strop. I like to have the extra 1/2" just in case tho.
