Ok, so I had a kenrup strop and wapi. It was amazing how quickly the wapi ate up that strop and the wapi wasn't sharp.

I got a shave ready razor from Lary at whippeddog.com. And now I remember what shave ready means. I got a big mamma from starshaving.com. Think I'm about ready.

What is the diffence between felt (on my big mamma), linen (on Tony's strops) and the webbing (on a SRD strop)? Is one really better than the other?

The back of my kenrup strop was pasted, and I found that I got chromium on the front of the strop. I don't want to do that to my new big mamma. I'm thinking of getting something cheap to put paste on, but I'm not sure what. I do have some bass wood, could use that, but don't know if it's as good as the felt/linen/webbing.
