If you use sandpaper to get rid of the nicks, make sure to clean the strop very well after to ensure no sandpaper particles are left on the strop

Thanked: 17The inevitability of nicking the strop is why I went with the poor man's strop from Whipped Dog. Figured I'd cut it all to pieces while learning then drop the dime on a really nice one. I've got 3 small nicks on mine (keeps giving me a tad bit shorter area to strop on) but I'm managing.

Thanked: 46I have 2 nicks on my strop..meh..they are pretty flat now and don't impact the razor at all..I snipped off the leather pieces from the surface..strops well
