    If you use sandpaper to get rid of the nicks, make sure to clean the strop very well after to ensure no sandpaper particles are left on the strop

    The inevitability of nicking the strop is why I went with the poor man's strop from Whipped Dog. Figured I'd cut it all to pieces while learning then drop the dime on a really nice one. I've got 3 small nicks on mine (keeps giving me a tad bit shorter area to strop on) but I'm managing.

    I have 2 nicks on my strop..meh..they are pretty flat now and don't impact the razor at all..I snipped off the leather pieces from the surface..strops well
