SRD "Roo" strop opinions.
Hello Gentlemen`s.
My daily strop is a SRD Black Latigo with one year use on it. I`m thinking of a new SRD Roo strop, and wonder how it performs compared to the Black Latigo 3" strop. I would like a little "softer" strop with more feedback, which of the premium SRD strops would you advice me to buy? Thank you!

I've read the Roo strop has a medium draw but that's all I know. How is the draw on the Black Latigo..probably less?

Thanked: 1587Depends on the type of Roo leather - there are different grades. I cannot imagine the SRD roo strops would be anything but the highest grade though. Your best bet is to have a chat with the guys at SRD and ask them.

I ended up with a Norwegian handmade Scrupleworks 3" linen/leather strop instead. Could not be happier, outstanding performance and a hand made product of the finest quality.
Actually this strop put my straights to another level in sharpeness and shaving smoothness. Try one if you can get your hands on one.

I have heard that SRD Naturals have the heaviest draw. Never stropped with Roo,though. Check into Neil Miller's Modified English Bridle with 3 coats of oil. Soft with awesome draw, IMHO.

I rest my case.

The SRD Roo strop is one of my better strops. The Roo has a bit more draw than the Latigo but less than the buffalo. The material is thin but very strong. You won’t be disappointed, it’s amazing to strop on. I would highly recommend the new SRD Roo strop.
