Wrinkles on the surface of a strop
Is this bad? Can I fix this? I just received this strop today and it was packaged in a box, folded, but very loosely, in half. Nonetheless, when I got it home and pulled it out, I noticed two creased/wrinkled areas on the stropping surface.
It is a Premier Strop Company Black Latigo 3" that I got from Fendrihan.
Here are a couple of photos which show the wrinkles.

Thanked: 1371Find a smooth round surface to pull it over, and stretch it slightly as you pull.
It's like a glass bottle, but you can put more tension on it.
I have a 4" stainless steel pipe that I use to smooth out strops. I just hold both ends and pull it back and forth over the pipe for awhile.
If that doesn't work you can sand them out.

Should I apply any sort of treatment first, or just go for it?

Ok, well just to cover all my bases, I sent an email to the company where I bought the strop. Hopefully, they can help me out.

First just let it hang for a day or three.
I do not think this is an issue to worry about...
Most can be rubbed out or just worked out
in the natural process of stropping.
Since a razor is fragile compared to a chunk of
stainless pipe or a glass bottle we recommend
the pipe or bottle a lot of the time.
Since the strop is new there should be no need
to apply anything. Some might lightly spray
the surface with water... humidity can help
wet not so much.
You can lay it flat and pretend it is a steel guitar
on a counter top or use it hanging like a strop.
So just rub it flat and you are good to go.
