Default I know what I'm asking for for Christmas

I had to give my babies a week off thanks to a slip up last week resulting in two nice slices on my cheeks. I was so happy last night that I was healed enough to be able to enjoy a nice SR shave once again. So after a nice hot shower I was stroping my friodur when all the sudden I had a complete lapse of concentration and didn't flip my razor on the return stroke which resulted in me nearly slicing my strop in two. I'm not too broke up about it since this will pretty much guarantee my fiance will have new SRD strop waiting for me under the tree. However what do I do in the meantime? Any suggestions on a temporary fix to get me by for the next few weeks?

Lay whats left of your strop on a flat surface and double your strokes?
I'm a sucker for a stamped tail. Giggity.

If all else fails, newspaper on a flat surface makes a good strop in a pinch.

You could take all the hardware off your damaged strop and glue the best remaining bit of leather to a board? That way you have a paddle strop to use now and something to perhaps paste later on. My 2c.

If its at the very top or very bottom, and assuming it has screws on the handles and top, Cut the end square and punch holes for the handle or top screws and use it as a shorter strop until you can replace it. If you did it in the middle, then +1 on the above. Good Luck, Howard

+1 on the Newspaper. About 4 pages taped to the smooth counter top and strop away !!!!!!!
