Time for a new strop?
I've had my strop for about 6 months now, but given I'm still pretty new to SR, I've had my fair share of screw ups. I've attached some pictures and would appreciate your thoughts around if I need to get a new strop or if these kind of nicks are fairly standard. Also, does anyone have any idea what the green side is for? Tried using it once which is why there's a bit of green on the leather side but never again as did not want to mess up both my leather side and razor.

If the nicks interfere with your stropping you can definitely sand them out, but I would not replace that strop. The green side is for slight touch-ups on your edge. be sure to only use a handful of strokes on this side when needed. Also be sure to wipe the paste off your blade before stropping on the plain leather.

StraightRazzin,
Definitely try sanding the nicks down smooth - 600 'grit' silicon carbide paper has worked fine for me in the past
Sand gently until the surface is smooth and level.
The green pasted side looks like it has been treated with Green Dovo paste.
As 'deighaingeal' has said, use this side very sparingly and do wipe your blade gently on tissue afterwards. Try 5 - 10 laps then shave test.
If needed, repeat the 5 - 10 laps until you are happy with the edge.
Good luck !
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ
PS If needed, a lot of the Dovo Green paste can be removed by wiping with a paper towel slightly moistened with lighter fuel (I use Zippo or Ronson).
