I use a couple of felt strops that I got from Straight Razor Designs, I use 2 of the strops with their magnetic
paddle strop set up, one with diamond spray and one with CrOx. I also use one of their hanging felt strops with
CrOx. I use the diamond spray as a touch up and follow with leather. I mostly use the CrOx felt after honing and then go to leather.

I've been using a felt strop for 2 years. I will give the razor about 20-25 passes before leather right before I shave. Some guys strop after shaving to remove moiture etc. after shaving, the felt should do a good job there too.

I use the felt before the leather...except on an old Bengall I have, which has a particularly hard steel. I think the felt really 'does' something, while the leather doesn't even touch it - in my oppinion.

Also, one thing about the felt is that you can see the steel that comes off while using it - so, it obviously is removing steel as you go along. At least I can. There's a bit of a dirty residue left behind at the foot and head of the (felt) strop.

Felt is great pre leather stropping. Don't know that I'd use it alone without a leather follow up.

I used to quite enjoy the felt as a post shave strop.

Now I used it impregnated with CrOx, and a tissue as a post shave wipe.

I feel that my felt is better used with a compound on top.

When we were developing the felt into a hanging strop, it turned out that the felt material was actually very nice as a pre-leather strop stand alone. Much the same as the poly webbing, cottons or linens. Many prefer it with the sprays that are available today for refreshing and after honing, but it functions very well on it's own.

    Have fun.

Glad you like it. I think the natural cushion really works great with both the diamond and chromium oxide sprays. Not much pressure and not many strokes and a great finishing result.
