    Default My Nauga Hide Strop

I used some Nauga Hide that I liked the feel of as a strop. It's my first attempt at strop making so it doesn't look the best. But I like it, has a nice draw. Is nice and evenly flat when you pull it taught. I used black hemp rope to stitch it together.

    Thats a good looking strop!

Where did you find a Nauga to get the hide from? I thought they were extinct

The legend goes that you don't have to slaughter Naugas to get their hide because they shed it!

Seriously though, if it is Naugahyde it's really an artificial leather with a PVC coating. Never tried it myself, but if it works, hey - why not?!

    Regards,
    Neil
