    Default Old Strop

    Hello everyone,
I received this old strop and looking for any information on it. I cannot find any markings on it at all. It appears to have 4 sides, 3 leather and 1 maybe balsa? it very lightweight and adjustable by turning the handle. It has a partially leather covered box that it came in. Any info is greatly appreciated. (I should also say that I have searched google to the ends of the earth without any luck)

Does it have any markings or Patent numbers and dates?

    Neat looking old strop.

Nothing that I can find. The box has only 3 sides left, and nothing on it either. I've been over the strop with a low strength magnifying glass and can't find a stamp, etching or mark. It's got me baffled. It is very cool looking, and the leather is on pretty good shape. It's one of those things where I'd love to use it, but then again it's so old I think that, I can't do anything to disturb it!
Edit: I just saw a post from Martin103 a few down from this one of somes pics from an old catalog. The 2nd strop looks close. I'll do some research on Howard strops. Thanks Martin!
