Thanked: 2Strop leather on razor
I have an SRD 3" latigo leather strop when I strop my razor on it I get a thin red line along each side of my razor. Almost like the leather is rubbing off onto the spine of the blade. I've tried different pressure but to the same result. Does any1 elses strop rub off onto their razor?

You either have rounded your edge a bit, or new strops just require breaking in? You are probably just breaking it in

Thanked: 1263Mine did the same thing when it was new. Its just a bit of the dye coming off in the break in. Nothing to worry about just keep using it and it'll end in time

Thanked: 1587Yes, that is nothing to worry about. It is just the treatment of the new strop. It will go away with time.
