Thread: Vintage Strop Question

I've found several vintage strops where the outside is all nicked and cut and the inside (with the impressed logo and name) virtually untouched. They weren't pasted or anything so I just flipped and they were perfect!

Was/is there a reason I find strops this way? With what I would assume was the outside surface turn inside next to the linen.

Me thinks the side you flipped to was never used

Pretty much!!

$4.50 for one and $2 for the other!!! Moral of the story, check ALL sides of strops when you find them in antique stores
